Ho fatto il bis di Edward Norton in pochi giorni.
Dopo Birdman, ho fatto un tuffo nel sadismo di questo attore talentuoso che non conoscevo così bene. L’avevo visto in Fight Club e in Grand Hotel Budapest nei panni dell’ispettore Henckels… e ora l’ho impresso nella memoria -per forza- nel ruolo dello skinhead Derek con la sua grossa svastica nera tatuata sul petto mentre incita all’odio in American History X.
Parlerei per ore del film, del suo attore e di quella nomination agli Oscar del 1999 che nessuno gli avrebbe tolto se Norton non fosse capitato – malauguratamente per lui – nell’anno fortunato di Roberto Benigni in “La vita è bella” in quella che evidentemente è stata l’annata cinematografica del riscatto da tutte le forme di odio interrazziale e di xenofoba follia nazista… e ho riflettuto.
Già, cinema! Come si pronuncerebbe l’Academy davanti alla disumana realtà di questi giorni ai danni dei migranti? Quale Oscar assegnare all’avanzare di un preoccupante atteggiamento violento (per ora solo verbale?) tra la gente, aizzato dalle solite formazioni politiche di sciacalli? Come arrivare a concepire un cupo “me ne frego” verso l’emergenza che si sta consumando sulle sponde del Mediterraneo e ora sul suolo italiano? Come si fa presto a diventare vittime dell’ignoranza dilagante prima che sfoci in violenza civile?
Forse sono io a darlo per scontato oppure si è fin troppo banali e mediocri per non sapere cosa sia la paura… Masse impaurite di esseri umani che affrontano la paura del mare (che è comunque meno grande della paura di una morte certa nel Paese di partenza) e del viaggio verso l’utopica Europa, si ritrovano ora a dover gestire altre paure, quelle occidentali dei popoli ospitanti, a loro volta, vittime fragili e smarrite come le giovani menti sbandate di Derek e Danny, trascinate dalla brutalità dei difensori del “white power” verso la deriva dell’odio e del razzismo.
Nessuna sceneggiatura da premiare stavolta. Il nesso cinema-realtà si mescola. Due sfere che si fondono e confondono… e francamente oggi non saprei più quale sia il cinema e quale la realtà. Il copione è lo stesso: quel copione che il regista Tony Kaye ha dato a Ed Norton che -a mio avviso- potrebbe benissimo avere la faccia di Matteo Salvini, di Marine Le Pen, di Nigel Farage e il suo UKIP, di Viktor Orban in Ungheria, di Jimmie Åkesson con il suo Sverigedemokraterna svedese o dei folli sostenitori di PEGIDA, il movimento tedesco dei “patrioti europei contro l’islamizzazione dell’Occidente”… che così recita:
“Ci sono più di due milioni di immigrati clandestini che dormono sulla nostra terra stanotte. Questo Stato ha speso 3 miliardi di dollari l’anno scorso per l’assistenza a persone che non hanno il diritto di stare in America: 3 miliardi di dollari! 400 milioni di dollari solo per tenere in cella quella massa di porci criminali che sono in questo Paese solo perché all’immigrazione hanno deciso che non vale la pena fare delle discriminazioni tra i carcerati. A chi gliene frega? Al nostro governo non gliene frega!
Quindi chi rimane sorpreso se a sud del confine ridono di noi e delle nostre leggi? Ogni notte migliaia di questi parassiti si riversano oltre il confine come se andassero alla fiera della cuccagna… Qui si tratta della vostra vita e della mia.
Gli onesti lavoratori americani che oggi vengono ignorati e trattati di merda perché il loro governo si preoccupa più dei diritti costituzionali di un gruppo di persone che non hanno la cittadinanza. Sulla statua della libertà leggi “Dateli agli stanchi, gli affamati e i poveri”. Beh, sono gli americani ad essere stanchi, affamati e poveri, e finché non ti prendi cura di noi chiudi quel cazzo di libro! Perché stiamo perdendo!
Stiamo perdendo il diritto di costruirci un destino, stiamo perdendo la libertà per permettere a degli stranieri di venire qui e spellare il nostro Paese. E non è una cosa che sta succedendo a miglia da noi, non è che sta capitando in posti dei quali non possiamo occuparci; sta capitando proprio qui, nel nostro quartiere, nel palazzo che è di fronte a noi.

Di fronte a questa situazione, purtroppo non saprei offrire soluzioni di ordine pubblico (non spetta a me). Non saprei come gestire politicamente questo nuovo fenomeno di imponenti migrazioni dal Sud. Non saprei neppure come affrontare la questione diplomatica internazionale che sta per scoppiare tra l’Italia e la vicina Francia, ma so di non potermi voltare davanti alla questione umanitaria.
Quella morale, soggettiva. Quella che ci vede fianco a fianco alle associazioni Onlus nelle stazioni e nelle strutture di accoglienza. Saprei quindi cosa offrire in concreto nel mio piccolo e saprei ovviamente cosa condannare: quest’inattesa unità europea nella follia che si sta riversando sulle paure e sull’ignoranza dei suoi cittadini.
